Stretching is a great way to UPgrade your body.
We all know that dancing, moving and exercising are a necessary activity for Upgrading and sustaining a healthy body and mind. Stretching adds another very important ingredient to the body - and that’s flexibility. What I love about stretching is that it opens my body. I love the sensation of yawning muscles, flowing life force and lengthening.
Stretching has many other benefits, such as:
- relief from pain
- increased energy levels
- increased flexibility
- better range of motion of the joints
- greater circulation of blood to various parts of the body
- relaxation and stress
- relief enhanced muscular coordination
- improved posture
- greater sense of well-being
- Allow you to feel more free, open, calm, content, and confident from the inside out
- Spread life force energy into your cells, which invigorates your spirit

Check in with your day routine and see where you would love to add some stretching time. When is your body asking for it the most? My body’s favorite time is in the morning, so I can start my day vitalized, energized and open.
Instead of watching a YouTube video with stretching practices, look into a book or repeat a stretch practice you remembered out of a class, I would love to invite you to check in with your body. Let your body be the instructor. Create a sacred space for you and your body. Somewhere quite and where you can be alone. Check in with your body, which sensations can you sense? Is there any pain or constraint? And now let your body guide you into your stretch. Follow the impulses your body is giving through sensation and create the perfect stretch for that moment. You will notice that the stretches will change every time you check in because your body is needing different movement and stretches every day, every new moment. By doing this practice you will also increase your Body Awareness.
